All we can say is WOW!  What a fantastic showing LSU Tulsa area chapter members and fans had last Saturday night for our Watch Party for LSU vs. Northwestern State.  There was a tremendous turnout for our first ever Watch Party at Hot Shots with over 55 Tulsa area LSU Alumni and fans in attendance.  The atmosphere was electric as we packed the place wall to wall.  We were definitely loud and proud, as the purple and gold was flying high. Thanks to all of you who turned out.  If you weren't there, you absolutely missed a great time.

The management at Hot Shots had TVs all over the place tuned to the Tigers.  The food was great with 50 cent wings and other specials. Most importantly the broadcast was coming in loud and clear.   Sara McKinney and Shelly Stauffer did a great job getting everybody signed in and name tags distributed.  D J Keith Huffman did a fantastic job bringing the sounds of the Golden Band from Tigerland to our watch party.   Also, thanks go to Cathy Huffman and Janet Collins for running a great raffle.  Congratulations to new member Charlie Faulkner for winning the grand prize, a gift certificate to Hot Shots which he can use at our next watch party.            

As for the football game, the Tigers performed as most people expected.  The offense rolled up 49 points, while the defense held the Demons to only 3 points and no touchdowns.  The second half was turned over to the reserve players with several guys getting their first playing time of the year.  That experience will come in handy as the season progresses.  The most important part of the game was the play of both LSU quarterbacks, Lee and Mettenberger.    

This week's game will be a prime time ESPN telecast THURSDAY NIGHT, September 15th.  The Tigers will be playing SEC conference rival Mississippi State in Starkville, Mississippi.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. with our Hot Shots tailgate starting at 6:30 P.M.
